Most tradie websites are built to look nice. Yours needs to turn someone standing in a flooded laundry into a phone call. This page explains what actually works — and what a tradie website costs in Australia in 2026.

Over 70% of tradie searches in Australia happen on mobile, and a lot of them happen mid-emergency — someone with a burst pipe, a power fault, or a leak they found at 7am. That visitor is not browsing. They are about to call the first number that appears and works. Your website has about three seconds and one clear button to make that happen.
That means a tradie website is not a brochure. It is a phone call trigger. Every design decision should be evaluated against one question: does this make someone more likely to call?
Ranking for "electrician Melbourne" is nearly impossible for a small business — see our Melbourne page for that market. Ranking for "electrician Preston" or "electrician Reservoir" is very achievable — and those searches convert at a higher rate because the person typing them already knows where they want you to come from.
We build a service-area page for each suburb you actually cover — the full reasoning is in why tradie websites need suburb pages. Instead of one page fighting the biggest agencies for broad terms, you have ten pages ranking for specific suburbs with almost no competition. This is how small trades compete against franchise brands.
Plumbers, electricians, builders, plasterers, painters, tilers, carpenters, roofers, HVAC technicians, pest controllers, cleaners and landscapers. The website structure is similar across trades — the service-area pages, the emergency CTA, the licence display — but the content is written for your specific trade, not repurposed from a template.
If you have just started and have no Google Business Profile, set that up first. It is free, it puts you on Maps, and for a lot of trades it generates more calls in month one than a website will. We would rather tell you that than sell you something you do not need yet. Come back when you are competing for jobs people compare before calling.
A three to five page tradie site is $800, up to ten pages with service-area pages is $1,900, and unlimited pages is $3,500. A booking system adds from $700. Every quote is fixed in writing before work starts.

Not always, and not first. A free Google Business Profile should come before a website for a brand new sole trader. A website earns its keep once you are competing for jobs where people compare two or three tradies, quoting work over $5,000, or paying for ads and sending that traffic to a Facebook page.
Five to seven business days for a three to five page site, two to three weeks for a larger one. The usual delay is waiting on job photos and service descriptions, not development.
A website alone will not. Ranking depends on your Google Business Profile, reviews and links, and takes months. Anyone guaranteeing page one is guessing. What we can do is remove the technical reasons Google might ignore you — speed, structure, schema and mobile usability are included in every build.
Completely — source code, repository and hosting account in your name. Several Australian agencies build on their own systems you cannot leave without a rebuild. Ask any agency you approach whether you take the site with you if you go.
